About Lindsey Ray
Artist Biography
Boasting a soulful croon and versatile piano skills, Lindsey Ray is a Maine-born singer/songwriter who initially performed under the name Lindsey Bachelder. The musician focused on her vocals at an early age, earning top honors at a Los Angeles singing competition when she was only 13 years old. Two years later, Ray began traveling back and forth to New York City in the hopes of landing a recording contract. The efforts grew tiresome, however, and she returned to Belfast, ME, by the age of 20. Comfortable and newly inspired in her hometown, Ray continued to compose original songs, one of which caught the ear of Original Signal Recordings. She signed with the upstart label and left home once again, this time heading for the sunny shores of Los Angeles. Collaborating with a number of top-tier songwriters, Ray fashioned a pop/rock sound that was summery and expressive, and she received a boost in popularity when the single "Goodbye from California" was featured in the season finale of MTV's The Real World: Hollywood. ~ Andrew Leahey
