Metal duo Lindemann formed in 2013 as a side-project of Rammstein singer Till Lindemann and Peter Tägtgren, singer and multi-instrumentalist in the Swedish metal acts Hypocrisy and Pain.
∙ Their first single, 2015’s darkly sardonic “Praise Abort,” reached the German Top 100.
∙ Till Lindemann sang in English, rather than his native German, on their debut album, Skills in Pills, which was No. 1 hit in Germany and reached the Billboard 200 in 2015.
∙ The duo contributed six songs to Hänsel und Gretel, a 2018 adaptation of the fairy tale produced by Hamburg’s Thalia Theater, and Till Lindemann appeared in the play.
∙ The video for Lindemann’s industrial, hip-hop-driven 2018 single “Mathematik,” featuring German rapper Haftbefehl, has been viewed more than 8 million times.
∙ Swedish actor Peter Stormare, of Fargo fame, appeared as Till Lindemann’s menacing doppelgänger in the video for 2019 single “Steh auf.”
∙ Their 2019 sophomore album, F & M—which mixed elements of opera and tango into the duo’s metal/industrial stew—topped the German charts.
