One of America’s most earth-shakingly loud bands, Lightning Bolt squeeze as much power out of a bass and drum kit as possible. Active since the late 90’s, drummer/vocalist Brian Chippendale and bassist Brian Gibson began by playing improvisational shows around the country before their molten noise-core sound began to coalesce into something recordable. On an increasingly adventurous series of LPs, they have transformed their somewhat limited vocabulary of sounds into unrecognizable shapes by employing effects pedals and unusual tunings. But it's the band’s startling live shows that have truly made their reputation.
