The song topped the UK chart and since the original session Simmonds has re-recorded the song several times - a notable remake was with Sugar Minott for his Black Roots label. Simmonds maintained a low profile within the industry, although he toured globally. On a North American tour he was invited to perform on the Film 4 presentation, We The Raggamuffin.
Simmonds sang ‘Without Love’, and has subsequently adopted a conscientious stance on hits such as, ‘Our Father’, ‘Anything Else’, and ‘Big Brother’, the latter in combination with Sandeeno.
