About Lars Lilholt
Artist Biography
Lars Lilholt, a vocalist, violinist, bandleader, and composer, has been a driving force in the Danish folk scene since the early 1970s. His contributions are significant, beginning as a member of folk-rock outfit Kræn Bysteds and later evolving into the leadership of the long-running Lars Lilholt Band. The Herlev native's prolific solo career, which continues to thrive into the 2020s, has yielded numerous chart-topping albums and hits, with the heartfelt "Kald det kærlighed" featured on his 1986 LP Portland being the most famous. Lilholt's talent is further showcased in his recordings and performances with the Danish supergroup Dalton, where he collaborates with Johnny Madsen and Allan Olsen.
