About Landon Austin
Artist Biography
A prolific Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and YouTuber, Landon Austin built a career throughout the 2010s around his warm blend of original folk-pop songs and covers of popular songs, many of which featured collaborations with other vocalists. In addition to popular original songs like "Once in a Lifetime" and "Armor," he found particular success with his acoustic mashups of songs by artists like Hailee Steinfeld, Justin Bieber, and Taylor Swift.
A native of Dallas, Texas, Austin gained some early exposure as a finalist in the 2008 Doritos Crash the Super Bowl competition and used the earnings he made to fund his first recordings. Relocating to Nashville, he attended Belmont University and within a few years began to find some success releasing his own recordings and building an audience for his YouTube channel, where he posted covers of songs by everyone from the Beatles to P!nk. Even as his smooth vocals and original songwriting gained traction, especially with romantic fare like "Once in a Lifetime," Austin kept up a steady stream of covers and maintained an ongoing series of cover albums throughout the decade, many of which featured duets with friends like Meghan Tonjes, Kaya May, and Molly Reinhold. ~ Timothy Monger
