Led by French musician Matthieu Chedid, Lamomali blends West African traditions with an amalgam of pop, rock, and worldbeat sounds. Chedid, known by the moniker - M -, founded the group in 2016 after traveling to Mali to collaborate with legendary father-son kora duo Toumani and Sidiki Diabaté. Also featuring Malian singer Fatoumata Diawara, the collective recorded their self-titled debut album in 2017. Their follow-up, Totem, was released in 2025.
