Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The adolescent son of our neighbours played in a cover band and had a Fender Telecaster guitar and a Marshall amp. He could play Jimi Hendrick's solo on Red House note by note. He was something like a God to me for a short period of time.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Miles Davis, Bitches Brew Sade, Stronger Than Pride The Beatles, Rubber Soul All of them left me in awe when I first heard them. They opened a door to a next level of perception of music and style and have influenced my own music up to today.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Day of the Man With a Heart of Gold” I wrote this song with my daughter in mind. It's a tribute to real love, which is not easy to find. Its smooth yet vigorously insisting sound matches the lyrics perfectly.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Meeting Herb Alpert in person at A&M studios in Los Angeles and finding out he really liked what I/we (Double) were doing at the time. My mother used to dance to his tunes in the kitchen when I was a little boy.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Touring the U.S. and South America. Unfortunately I missed it in the 80s.
