Artist Biography
A legendary yet under-recorded figure of the New York rap scene, Kurious is praised by dedicated hip-hop fans for his sharp-witted rhyming skills and humorous style. Associated with members of Golden Age favorites like the Beatnuts, 3rd Bass, KMD, and Hieroglyphics since the early days of his career, Kurious made his full-length debut with the 1994 major-label effort A Constipated Monkey. Despite receiving acclaim from the press and respect from the underground hip-hop community, Kurious largely went silent, occasionally making appearances on various MF Doom-related releases, including membership as part of supergroup Monsta Island Czars. He finally resurfaced with II in 2009, and has since released material more frequently, with three albums arriving during the 2020s, including 2024's Majician.
