Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I recall sitting on my brother's lap in the back seat of a commercial bus on our way to school, nodding my head to music from Okomfour Kwadee and subconsciously memorizing the lyrics. I was only five, and could barely understand what the music meant.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Dave, PSYCHODRAMA Ko-Jo Cue, For My Brothers Pure Akan, Onipa Akoma Diverse as they may seem, they all conceptually tell detailed stories and artistically convey narratives that connect with the universal human experience. I view these projects as the closest thing to a roadmap for my own life and musical journey.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “5foot3 (feat. Agyeibea)” The first version of this song was written in 2017. It moved from being a bitter rant about body shaming and inferiority, to an opener of a concept album about weaknesses. Today this confession of imperfection has become the mantra I operate by.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My fondest memory may be my first extensive fan interaction after 5foot3 was released. It was the first time anyone had reached out to me to pour, and extensively share parallels between my music and their lives, and what impact it had on them.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? A whole lot, haha! I have been blessed to work with Paapa Versa, and I intend to work with more artists of his calibre. I still keep a hit list of dream collaborations, and with each passing day one of those artists finds my music. So we are close !
