With his blend of Afrobeats, dancehall, and UK trap, British singer and rapper Kojo Funds is regarded as a pioneer of Afroswing.
• Funds is of Ghanian and Dominican descent. The London native was inspired by Jamaican artists like Bob Marley, Mavado, Sean Paul, Shaggy, and Wayne Wonder.
• He discovered his passion for music by freestyling over beats with friends in a local car park. This led to his 2014 debut single, “Want From Me.”
• His dancehall-inspired 2016 breakthrough “Dun Talkin’” features London rapper Abra Cadabra.
