About King Karlemagne
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My father had Michael Jackson music videos on laser discs when I was a kid; everything from Thriller to Dangerous. I not only listened to the music but also copied the dance moves in the videos. That was my introduction to music, and Mike was a God.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? G-Unit, Beg For Mercy James Blunt, All the Lost Souls Joe Budden, All Love Lost (Deluxe Edition) G-Unit made me want to become a rapper. Those guys were my heroes. To me Joe Budden is the Godfather of modern introspective Hip-Hop, and I believe he displayed it best on that album. I love James Blunt's entire catalogue but could only pick one.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Fighter's Spirit” From the message, to the melodies, to the bars this is the best song I've ever recorded. Growing up I always gravitated towards rappers who payed attention to details such as rhyme-schemes, metaphors, similes, punchlines and I did all of that here.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Music was a struggle because I had to be an artist and balance life. So I never focused all my energy into making music in the past no matter how much I loved it. Being in the space I'm in now, I feel I still have those moments to look forward to.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I have traveled around the world but I'd like to do so performing my music. Wether it is a stadium tour, or just performing in hole in the nightclubs. That is still very much a goal of mine.
