About King Garbage
King Garbage is an Asheville, North Carolina-based duo that employs a nearly unclassifiable amalgam of soul-pop, garage rock, hip-hop, junkyard funk, lo-fi Motown, and psych-tinged R&B. Comprised of writers, producers, and multi-instrumentalists Vic Dimotsis and Zach Cooper, who have co-written hits for the likes of SZA, Travis Scott, the Weeknd, Ellie Goulding, Leon Bridges, and many others, King Garbage released their debut album, Make It Sweat, in 2017 through Brooklyn-based independent label Styles Upon Styles. The duo's distinctive, beat-driven sonic world building caught the attention of Ipecac, which added King Garbage to its reliably idiosyncratic roster. The group's chaotic, garage-soul-leaning sophomore long-player, Heavy Metal Greasy Love, was released in 2022.
