Keiichi Okabe is a Japanese composer of video games and television soundtracks. He began working in the mid-'90s for Namco Entertainment and was responsible for the music of popular video games such as Tekken and Air Combat, among others. In 2010, he composed the music for Square Enix's NieR, often considered one of the best examples of the genre. Due to its massive popularity, NieR's music spawned several record releases, from the original soundtrack to new versions with different arrangements (piano, techno, jazz, etc.). The game's long-awaited sequel, NieR: Automata, together with its corresponding Okabe-authored soundtrack, arrived in early 2017.
