Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith composes bright, fluid soundscapes on a variety of synthesizers, most notably the Buchla Music Easel. Excited by the endless possibilities of electronic instruments, her music is filled with vivid, expressive melodies along with her warped, ethereal vocals. In addition to her own acclaimed albums, such as The Kid (2017) and The Mosaic of Transformation (2020), Smith collaborated with electronic music pioneer Suzanne Ciani on the 2016 full-length Sunergy as well as composer Emile Mosseri on 2022's I Could Be Your Dog/I Could Be Your Moon. Smith released the complex, colorful Let's Turn It Into Sound in 2022, and explored a more danceable direction with 2024's Neptunes EP, a collaboration with Joe Goddard of Hot Chip.
