Steeped in the heavy, psychedelic traditions of Black Sabbath and Hawkwind, German rockers Kadavar fuse '70s hard rock with modern stoner metal. Since their explosive 2010 debut, the band has toured relentlessly, earning a reputation as an electrifying live act. Their 2017 album Rough Times hit number 18 on the German charts, followed by 2019’s For the Dead Travel Fast, which broke into the U.S. metal Top 20. In 2020, they released the moody Isolation Tapes on their own Robotor Records. A year later, they teamed up with Elder for the prog-psych concept album Eldovar. In 2024, Kadavar celebrated their debut album with a special anniversary box set, and in 2025, they issued their assured and introspective seventh long-player, I Just Want to Be a Sound.
