About Jude
Artist Biography
Jude appeared, almost mystically, on the modern rock scene in the mid-to-late 1990s, his acoustic folk-pop out of the world of Tim Hardin and Tom Paxton a distinct contrast to the post-Nirvana wailings prominent on radio. A sparsely produced regional record caught the eye of Madonna and was picked up by her Maverick Records, and with some MTV play, the acerbic, sardonic "Rick James" (an attack, but not on the famous funkster) became a surprise minor alternative hit. While he remained a cult favorite for over a decade, probably his most widely heard hit came in odd form in 2004 when Jude penned "You All Everybody," a fictional smash hit for Drive Shaft, a castaway's former band on the popular drama LOST.
