Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Listening to bands like The Offspring and Pearl Jam as a young kid definitely stick out as my earliest musical memories. Those are bands that definitely laid the foundation for joyful.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jimmy Eat World, Futures Motion City Soundtrack, Commit This to Memory These two records are absolute classics in our eyes. The production, guitar and drum tones, and just about every other aspect of these records as deeply ingrained in our DNA as musicians.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Big Funeral” “Big Funeral” means a lot to all 3 of us. It was written at a time when all of us were dealing with a significant loss in one form or another. It became a very cathartic song to write, and it also seems to have resonated with our listeners.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? So far, I think releasing our first single “Strangers In The Dark” has been the highlight of our time as a band. That song gained a lot of traction when it came out and exposed us to so many listeners and friends we wouldn’t have met otherwise.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We would love to play Riot Fest in Chicago. We’ve been going to that festival as fans for years. It would be amazing to preform at the festival some day.
