Artist Biography
Singer-songwriter Joshua Radin wanted to be a screenwriter and only started playing guitar in his late twenties after his father gave him one as a birthday gift.
∙ His big break came in 2004 when his friend Zach Braff heard “Winter,” the first—and at the time only—song Radin had ever written, which was then featured in an episode of Braff’s TV show, Scrubs.
∙ Produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Beck), Radin’s second album, 2008’s Simple Times, made it to No. 2 on Billboard’s Independent Albums chart and was a No. 9 UK hit.
∙ Ellen DeGeneres, one of his biggest fans, asked him to perform his song “Today” at her 2008 wedding to Portia de Rossi.
∙ His laidback love song “I’d Rather Be With You” hit No. 11 on the UK singles chart in 2010.
∙ 2012’s Underwater featured an all-star cast of session musicians, including Benmont Tench (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) and Jim Keltner (John Lennon, Bob Dylan).
∙ Sheryl Crow duetted with Radin on “Beautiful Day,” from 2015’s Onward and Sideways.
