Influenced by his father, who used to write poems, Puerto Rican José Nogueras began composing at the age of 17. He made his debut with the release of Para Tu Fiesta and Tiempo Nuevo. José Nogueras' songs have been performed by talented tropical artists Rubén Blades, Héctor Lavoe, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and Tony Vega, among others. In 1999, Luis "Perico" Ortíz produced his third album, called El Cuarto Rey Mago.
