Artist Biography
Brazilian sertanejo stars Jorge & Mateus released their Gold-certified debut album, Jorge & Mateus ao Vivo em Goiânia, in 2007.
∙ They first gained fame when 2007’s “De Tanto Te Querer” was included on a sertanejo-themed soundtrack album for the Brazilian soap opera A Favorita.
∙ A radio hit in Brazil, Jorge & Mateus’ 2008 country-pop single “Pode Chorar” sold more than 100,000 downloads.
∙ Two of their LPs—2012’s A Hora É Agora (Ao Vivo em Jurerê) and 2015’s Os Anjos Cantam—have received Latin Grammy nominations for Best Sertanejo Album.
∙ The DVD of 2013’s Platinum-selling Live in London - At the Royal Albert Hall was helmed by top concert-and-events director Hamish Hamilton (Beyoncé, U2, Academy Awards).
∙ Como. Sempre Feito. Nunca (Ao Vivo), released in 2016, topped the Brazilian charts for 10 weeks, peaking at No. 13 on Billboard’s World Albums chart.
∙ In 2020, their four-hour-plus livestreamed concert, Live Na Garagem, attracted millions of viewers, and the official video has been viewed more than 40 million times.
