With vocals sweet as honey, Jocie Guo Mei Mei’s breakout renditions of viral pop hits “Mice Love Rice” and “No More Panic” made an impressive debut in 2006. Armed with addictive hooks and catchy choruses, the Singaporean singer continued to storm the Mandopop market with earworm dance-pop tracks. Since 2014, however, Guo has shifted her focus towards ballads. Her unique vocal colour glides through the elegant melodies of songs such as 你能聽見嗎 (“Can You Hear Me”) and 白夜 (“White Night”), echoing bittersweet memories—the nostalgia, the loneliness and the healing.
