Indie singer/songwriter Jessica Lea Mayfield issued her debut album, White Lies, under the name Chittlin'. The release led to a singing appearance on the 2008 Black Keys album Attack & Release. Her first album under her own name, the folk-leaning With Blasphemy So Heartfelt, was produced by the Black Keys' Dan Auerbach. Released in 2014, Make My Head Sing... was a complete musical switch -- a scorching, electric rock & roll set. She returned to her more acoustic roots for the covers album Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield Sing Elliott Smith in 2015 before returning to indie rock with the John Agnello-produced Sorry Is Gone in 2017. ~ William Ruhlmann & Marcy Donelson
