About Jennifer O'Connor

Artist Biography

After bouncing around from Connecticut to Florida and Georgia, Jennifer O’Connor settled in Brooklyn in 2000, and immediately embarked on a series of earthy, gritty solo records in the dual tradition of indie rock like the Spinanes and sophisticated singer-songwriters such as Aimee Mann. Though her eponymous debut was released in 2002, it was 2005’s THE COLOR AND THE LIGHT that garnered O’Connor significant critical acclaim, placing her in the canon of contemporary songwriters like Jesse Sykes and Cat Power. In 2008, she released her fourth full-length, HERE WITH ME, and continued a relentless slate of nationwide touring.
