Singer/songwriter Jaume Sisa (born in Barcelona in 1948) is a major figure of Catalan counterculture. In the mid-'60s he was involved with the Nova Canço movement, but gradually began to turn from folk to rock. For a short while he even fronted the prog rock band Música Dispersa. Sisa launched his idiosyncratic solo career in 1971 with Orgia, achieved success in 1975 with Qualsevol Nit Pot Sortir el Sol, called it quits in 1982, assumed the identity of a romantic crooner from Madrid called Ricardo Solfa between 1987 and 1992, and finally returned to use his own name in 1996. His fine 2008 album Ni Cap Ni Peus was produced by Joan Miquel Oliver (Antònia Font). ~ Mariano Prunes
Jaume Sisa has also released music as a member of Música Dispersa.
