About Jass Manak
Artist Biography
Punjabi pop is often used as a catch-all phrase for music released by artists performing in the language irrespective of whether they lean heavily into bhangra or hip-hop. Yet Jass Manak is one of the few whose sound is firmly rooted in pop as a genre, even when he too ventures into different styles.
The singer-songwriter and composer aspired to become a professional musician as a child and started learning singing at a young age. He was quick to turn his dreams into reality and released his debut single “U TURN” when he was just 18. Manak soon turned into a teen heart-throb and remains popular thanks to a boutique of hits like “Prada”, “Lehanga” and “Suit Punjabi” and a line of strong albums, from Age 19 (2019) through No Competition (2020), Bad Munda (2021) and Love Thunder (2022). He has also contributed lyrics for other artists, including Deep Jandu and Jassi Gill.
Like many of his contemporaries, he added playback singing to his list of credits and has contributed to the soundtracks of films like Sikander 2 (2019) and Tufang (2023). Most recently, he also proved his talents extend to acting, making his debut in the Punjabi movie Jatt Brothers (2022).
