In This Moment is a theatrical Los Angeles rock band who have been have been topping the charts since the mid-2000s with music that melds metal riffs, goth flourishes, and industrial electronics.
∙ Formed in 2005, In This Moment originally had a traditional hard rock sound and went by the name Dying Star, but they quickly diverted into metal and adopted a new moniker.
∙ Rob “Blasko” Nicholson, best known as Ozzy Osbourne’s longtime bassist, discovered the group via social media and became their first manager.
∙ With their 2008 sophomore LP, The Dream, In This Moment landed on the Billboard 200—a feat they repeated with their next five studio albums.
∙ Their 2012 release, Blood, went Gold, as did two of the album’s songs: the title track and “Whore.”
∙ The band hit the Top 10 of the Billboard 200 for the first time with 2014’s Black Widow, which peaked at No. 8.
∙ “The In-Between,” the lead single off 2020’s Mother album, earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance.
