Hyldon (Hyldon de Souza Silva) is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and producer. Alongside Tim Maia and Cassiano, he is part of Brazilian soul's holy trinity. His 1974 debut single, "Na Rua Na Chuva Na Fazenda," became an instant hit at home and would serve as the title of his classic 1975 debut album. He issued two more LPs that decade -- 1976's Deus A Natureza E A Música and 1977's Nossa História De Amor -- and wrote for dozens of artists. Hyldon released three independent albums during the '80s: Sabor De Amor, Coração Urbano, and Hyldon. The last included a songwriting collaboration with the novelist Paulo Coelho. Hyldon went on a recording hiatus during the '90s and returned in 2004 with Balanço. 2009's Soul Brasileiro was a star-studded affair that included appearances by Carlinhos Brown and Chico Buarque. 2016's As Coisas Simples Da Vida charted at home. In 2025, Hyldon released the collaborative Hyldon: Jazz Is Dead 023 with Adrian Younge; it appeared three days before his 74th birthday.
