Hard work is at the heart of singer-songwriter Hubert Ng’s musical journey. A bad experience at an open mic event as a teen—where an audience member asked him to stop singing—only fuelled his drive. He got serious and for two years took vocal, piano and guitar lessons, posting his performances online. His breakout came with the viral hit “Ni Ni (妮妮)”, which was inspired by Taiwan music influencers That Couple and their interactions with their daughter. Since then, Hubert has continued to pair lilting melodies with ardent, elastic vocals in every release.
