In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was around eight, sitting on the floor in our Delhi living room while my dad played qawwali and disco records on his old stereo. The power of Sufi vocals over heavy bass shook me. It was the first time I felt music in both my body and soul.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Jamiroquai, Travelling Without Moving Nirvana, Nevermind The Chemical Brothers, Block Rockin’ Beats Jamiroquai’s Travelling Without Moving for the basslines, Nirvana’s Nevermind for raw energy, and Chemical Brothers’ Block Rockin Beats — the track that pulled me into electronic music. Without them, I wouldn’t be doing what I do today!
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Gitano (Banjara Edit)” One of my favorite tracks is “Gitano” from the Banjara Series. It blends flamenco-inspired melodies with deep house grooves. It captures my love for cross-cultural sounds and the energy that happens when tradition meets the dancefloor.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Playing the Four Tet Presents showcase at Magnetic Fields was unforgettable. Sharing that stage felt like everything—years of building a sound rooted in India and beyond—had come full circle. It was deep, surreal, and totally affirming.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Touring with Rajasthan Folkstars, building a global live show, collaborating with artists from Africa, mixing on analog gear for vinyl releases, playing major festivals, and recording incredible musicians — that’s the dream!
