Jazz cornetist Graham Haynes is the son of legendary drummer Roy Haynes, but the younger Haynes’s career path is his own. While he does share his father’s grounding in bebop and swing, Graham has embraced the unique fusion of the M-Base crew (a loose Brooklyn-based confederation of jazz players immersed in funk, bop, groove, rock, etc.). He also frequently explores the possibilities of combining aspects of the traditional/folk forms of Asia and Africa with jazz and densely textured electronic music.
Graham Haynes has also released music as a member of Vijay Iyer Sextet, Go: Organic Orchestra, Nublu Orchestra, Naked Truth, M-BASE COLLECTIVE, Sacred System, and Adam Rudolph's Moving Pictures.
