A guitarist known for his innovative fusion of British folk, classical, rock, and jazz, Gordon Giltrap emerged from the '60s British Folk Revival, performing alongside the likes of Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, John Martyn and Al Stewart. Giltrap released a couple of well-regarded albums on Transatlantic before changing direction on 1976's VISIONARY, which featured lengthier instrumental pieces inspired by the artist and poet William Blake. After its follow-up, PERILOUS JOURNEY, reached the Top 30 in the British charts and included two hits, Giltrap continued a career working on soundtracks and on many albums with a wide array of collaborators from Rick Wakeman and Cliff Richard to the London Symphony Orchestra.
