In the rich tradition of West Coast pop bands, French Cassettes create a smart and engaging brand of indie pop that's tuneful, well-crafted, and full of beautifully executed harmonies that fuel their knack for clever melodies, and instrumentation that merges classic and innovative sounds. Formed by three high school friends, French Cassettes made their recording debut with 2011's Summer Darling, a bright and joyous exercise in home-crafted smart pop, and they experienced a critical and commercial breakthrough with 2020's more ambitious Rolodex. With production help from Nick Krill, 2024's Benzene showed the group moving in a more mature and thoughtful direction.
