Frank Casino’s undeniable charisma and jaunty delivery has made him a central figure within the South African trap scene who’s collaborated with everyone from A$AP Ferg to Cassper Nyovest. Born Nhlanhla Tshabalala in Tembisa, South Africa in 1993, Frank has been making music since his teens. On his 2016 breakthrough single “Whole Thing,” as well as its acclaimed Riky Rick-assisted remix, Frank celebrates the struggle and lays out his plan for riches. On his DIY debut project Something From Me, the East Rand MC raps about desire, both romantic and material, over sizzling trap beats. The rapper’s music—from 2018’s Heroes Of Tomorrow to 2020’s “I Cannot Lose Freestyle” and 2021’s “Forever”—showcases bold boasts and a dynamic flow that sublimates from laconic to exuberant.
