About Fluke
Artist Biography
Fluke mixed a techno background with an new-romantic-cum-indie-rock sensibility to become a cult sensation in the 1990s. After the white label 12-inch "Island Life," the act made its debut on Creation Records with "Philly." Their live debut was on the lawn of a Kent country house at a Boy’s Own Records party - a set that subsequently became their second album release, OUT (IN ESSENCE), in November 1991. For their major label bow, Fluke released the trance-dominated SIX WHEELS ON MY WAGON in 1993. Their notoriety also spread via remixes which included ones for Talk Talk, New Order, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Yello. When Björk invited them to remix ‘Big Time Sensuality’, she wound up issuing it in preference to the original version.
