In 1998, Pacific artist Fiji won Hawaiiâs prestigious Na Hoku Hanohano Award for Male Vocalist of the Year and was also voted Favorite Entertainer of the Year.
â Fiji sang and cowrote âLet Me Be the One,â the theme song to Baywatch: Hawaii, which also featured some of his Polynesian-flavored tunes.
â He produced and sang on R&B/reggae star J Boogâs 2007 hit debut, Hear Me Roar, while Boog appeared on Fijiâs 2013 single âLonely Days.â
â In 2012, he performed the National Anthem at Heinz Field before a Pittsburgh Steelers game, and he later headlined a charity Polynesian luau held by Steelers star Troy Polamalu.
â Born and Raised II (The Rebirth), his 2013 LP, topped the Billboard Reggae Albums chart and peaked at No. 3 on the World Albums chart.
â Legendary vocalist Dionne Warwick and her singer/producer son, Nomad, featured Fiji for her take on the island classic âMele Kalikimakaâ in 2018.
â He performed in 2019 with his idols Bruddah Waltah, Kapena, and The Manaâo Company at the latterâs 30th-anniversary concert.
