A versatile technical and progressive death metal band from San Francisco, Fallujah have continued to evolve musically, establishing a shining reputation in metal circles as one of the more inventive acts to emerge from the area since Metallica. Appearing in 2007 with a sound that hewed closer to traditional deathcore and grind, Fallujah's style grew increasingly complex, with wide-ranging albums like The Flesh Prevails (2014), Undying Light (2019), and Empyrean (2022) leaning harder into the group's more progressive tendencies. They returned in 2024 with "Sapphire," a remixed version from 2014's The Flesh Prevails. A month later, a remixed version of the entire album appeared in celebration of its tenth anniversary. Fallujah returned in June 2025 with the full-length Xenotaph.
Members of Fallujah include, or have included, Scott Carstairs, Andrew Baird, Evan Brewer, Kyle Schaefer, Brian James, Sam Mooradian, and Robert Morey.
