About Face to Face
Artist Biography
Face to Face were an integral part of Southern California’s fertile ’90s punk scene, thanks to snappy pogo-punk anthems such as “Blind” and “Disconnected.” The group’s roots are in Victorville, CA, where frontman Trever Keith and a high school pal, bassist Matt Riddle, played together in various bands before teaming up with drummer Rob Kurth to form Face to Face in 1991. They enjoyed success with albums such as 1995’s Big Choice, but by the end of the ’90s, both Riddle and Kurth had departed the group. However, Face to Face kept moving forward, recording for Vagrant Records and spending multiple stints on the Vans Warped Tour before calling it a day with a 2004 farewell tour. The break was short-lived, as Face to Face reunited in 2008 and resumed a busy recording schedule that resulted in classic-sounding SoCal punk jams such as 2021’s No Way out but Through.
