One of the key architects of the French house sound, DJ and producer Etienne de Crécy makes music ranging from disco-house to electropop. His first big project was Motorbass, a duo with future Cassius member Philippe Zdar that released a string of smoothly uptempo, funky records in the early '90s, as well as the acclaimed 1996 full-length Pansoul. He then went solo, hitting big with the Super Discount album in 1997. After that, he split his time releasing his own records (like 2000's disco-inspired Tempovision and two more volumes of the Super Discount series, one in 2004 and one in 2015) and remixing artists like Air, Chromeo, and Kraftwerk. B.E.D, a more song-focused collaboration with Baxter Dury and Delilah Holliday, appeared in 2018, and 2025's guest-heavy Warm Up continued in this pop-informed direction.
