In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest musical memories are of me watching my oldest brother play trombone, while my mom played piano, and my father playing trumpet whenI was maybe 5 or 6 years old. I knew from them that I wanted to be apart of what they were doing.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? JAY-Z, The Blueprint Miles Davis, Kind of Blue Stevie Wonder, Songs in the Key of Life I chose these 3 albums because they all played pivotal roles in shaping what I love most about music. All 3 of these albums, while different genres, are perfect in the art of storytelling, improv, supreme sonics and artistic expression.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Disaster” I love this song for the bass line, the simplicity but sophistication of the chord progression. I also love how my vocals feel and the key of the song. I also feel as though it has it's own sound and stands out from the norm of RnB.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I would say when I dropped out of college my 3rd year to go on tour with Mary J. Blige. I was only 20 years old and I got a chance to be with an Icon, see the world and learn the ins and outs of the music business.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to continue to put out great music and influence the generation to come just I was inspired by Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis and Jay-Z
