In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Since childhood, I've loved singing and often performed songs I created myself for my family. Forming a band for the high school festival and releasing an original song on YouTube a few months later marked the beginning of EndPine's activities.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Ken Hirai, Ken's Bar II "Ken's Bar II" was the first album I bought when I was in elementary school. I was a huge fan of Ken Hirai even back then, so I remember vividly how excited I was to sneakily buy it the day before its official release date.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “アオクサイ春” I decided to create a song with a theme of hopeful yet somewhat poignant separation. I embedded elements of Japanese popular music and aimed to express a modern 80s song in the EndPine style.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? 「ほとり」をハルメイの公式イメージソングに採用していただいたことですね。 今まで自分の曲に対する反応を直接実感するタイミングはあまりなかったのですが、講談社の編集部の皆様が大変気に入ってくださったようで、そのことを聞いた時は素直にとても嬉しかったです。実は「ほとり」は17歳の時に友達カップルに向けて作った曲で、そこからメロディと歌詞はほぼ変えずにキーとテンポを変え、キラキラポップにしてみたことがきっかけだったんです。当時、授業中に思いついたメロをトイレに駆け込んでメモしたのが懐かしいです(笑)
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? フルオーケストラで歌ってみたいです。大学時代、初心者ながらヴァイオリンの個人レッスンを履修し、オーケストラ部に所属して、毎回緊張でガチガチになりながら弾いていたという少し苦い経験があるので、それを払拭するかのようにステージで思い切り歌ってやりたいと思います。
