Pop troubadour Edwin McCain has had five albums on the Billboard 200 chart.
∙ McCain credits his discovery of singer-songwriter David Wilcox’s music at age 10 for showing him that “what matters is the space between the notes.”
∙ Hootie & The Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker, an early supporter of McCain’s, performed guest vocals on the title track of 1993’s Solitude.
∙ “I’ll Be,” McCain’s biggest hit, was sung by actor Ed Helms in a 2012 episode of The Office.
∙ His boat-restoration business in Greenville, South Carolina, became the subject of the reality TV series Flipping Ships.
