Initially formed by reality show Produce X 101, the group that would go on to become DRIPPIN debuted as W Project 4; in 2020, the group finally rebranded under Woollim Entertainment, debuting as DRIPPIN on October 2020’s Boyager, a mini-album that landed at number eight on the Gaon Albums Chart. A prolific 2021 saw the group issue their charting second mini-album A Better Tomorrow (also number eight) and debut single album Free Pass (number six), alongside picking up nominations for awards including the Gaon Chart Music Awards, Golden Disc Awards, Asia Artist Awards, and Mnet Asian Music Awards. In 2022, the group issued their third mini-album, Villain, and subsequent single album Villain: Zero.
