Formed in 1999, UK power metal band DragonForce has been named the “fastest band in the world,” thanks to their rapid-fire twin guitar attack and breakneck drumming.
∙ After the success of their sophomore album, 2004’s Sonic Firestorm, they were invited to open shows for legendary heavy metal acts Iron Maiden and W.A.S.P.
∙ Their signature song, 2006’s “Through the Fire and Flames,” was certified Platinum due, in part, to its massive popularity in the Guitar Hero video game franchise.
∙ “Heroes of Our Time” earned the band a Best Metal Performance nomination at the 2009 Grammy Awards.
∙ For their 2015 live album/video release, In the Line of Fire... Larger Than Live, they used ten separate cameras to capture their impressively synchronized multi-instrumental virtuosity.
∙ The band cheekily closed their 2019 album, Extreme Power Metal, with a thundering speed-metal cover of Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On.”
