About Dora Morelenbaum
Artist Biography
Brazilian music royalty from the cradle, singer and songwriter Dora Morelenbaum is the daughter of world-renowned cellist and arranger Jaques Morelenbaum and singer Paula Morelenbaum, and grew up watching her parents work with legends like Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, and Tom Jobim. In her early twenties, Dora began studying architecture in Rio de Janeiro, but soon switched careers to Brazilian Popular Music and began making music that married the forward-thinking attitude of early-'70s MPB with lush, contemporary sounds. Her band Bala Desejo's first album, SIM SIM SIM (2022), won a Latin Grammy for Best Portuguese Language Contemporary Pop Album. Dora released her debut solo album, the captivating Pique, in 2024.
