Dexter Story, named for the jazz saxophone giant Dexter Gordon, is a Los Angeles-based vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, and arranger. He works in genres from spiritual soul and jazz to funk, folk, hip-hop, electronic, and global styles. A founding member of the Life Force Trio, he has worked with an astonishing variety of artists including Dwight Trible, Kamasi Washington, Build an Ark, Madlib, and Gaslamp Killer. Story served as musical director for the Wasttstax Revisited concert, and as arranger for Todd Simon's Ethio Cali group. He has released two widely acclaimed solo albums.
