American beatmaker Devonwho (Devon Fox) produces laid-back electro-funk informed by the '90s G-funk sound, but with enough trippiness to fit in with the Brainfeeder/Stones Throw beat scene. He co-founded the Klipmode collective with frequent collaborators Mndsgn, Suzi Analogue, and Knxwledge around 2009. Following several digital releases and compilation appearances, as well as a split 7" with dBridge, Devonwho's 12" EP Keepthafunkalive appeared in 2010, followed by Strangebrew two years later. The full-length cassette Perfect Strangers was released in 2013. 2010, a collaborative EP with Shigeto, was made available as a free download in 2015. The following year, Matthewdavid's Leaving Records issued Devonwho's cassette EP Lyon, followed by the full-length LP Luz. ~ Paul Simpson
