Fronted by the husband-and-wife team of Fred and Toody Cole, Pacific Northwest trio Dead Moon made gritty, spirited, heart-on-the-sleeve rock records following the band's founding in 1987, recording and releasing all their music themselves. Their relentless touring and commitment to D.I.Y. ethics and honest rock & roll built them a healthy cult following. Dead Moon toured and recorded into the 21st century but, to the dismay of many, called it quits in 2006. A two-disc retrospective of the band, Echoes of the Past, and the documentary Unknown Passage, were both released around the same time the band dissolved.
