Founded in 1997, Los Dareyes de la Sierra are an internationally popular Musica Mexicana group from Navojoa, Sonora, Mexico. Their sound melds traditional folk forms including corrido, banda, norteño, and even mariachi with modern production techniques and electronics. Their recordings chart regularly in Mexico and Central America, while their sold-out concerts -- both in dancehalls and concert venues -- made their innovation not only popular but influential. Early albums include El Águila Real (2005), Directo (2006), En la Mira (2007), and Con Banda (2008). Between 2010 and 2019, they released numerous studio albums and supplemented them with compilations, banda versions, and live offerings. During the 2020 pandemic they issued no less than 11 digital albums including El Molino. 2021's Lo Mas Romantico De placed inside Mexico's Top Ten. In 2025, the band issued Redención, a series of collaborations with artists they influenced including Peso Pluma, Tito Double P, Alfredo Olivas, and Gabito Ballesteros.
Founded in 1997, Los Dareyes de la Sierra's early popularity was established by albums including Duelo de Shakas (2000), El Águila Real (2005), and Con Banda (2008). Beginning with 2009's Una Copa Mas, they offered polished production standards resulting in a more dynamic, rhythmic sound. 2012's Sangre Guerrera experimented not only with production but rhythmic invention. 2015's Tienes Todo netted six charting singles. In addition to regular releases, Los Dareyes de la Sierra has issued many compilations, live recordings, and banda versions of their original albums. 2019's El Principo y El Fin was a return to tradition and charted. During the pandemic, the band, quarantined at home, issued a whopping ten digital albums from their archives, featuring new tracks, singles, and other tunes. The widely celebrated Homenaje Miguel y Miguel ran up the charts at home and made inroads in the U.S. They followed with a handful of live, compilation, and studio releases that included the widely celebrated Homenaje Lalo el Gallo. In 2025, they issued Redención, a collection of collaborations with musicians they influenced including Tito Double P, Peso Pluma, Gabito Ballesteros, and Luis R Conriquez. ~ Jason Birchmeier
