Gifted with an expressive voice and the pop instincts of a chart-topping artist, Dappy has delivered infectious singles and emotionally transparent raps since the mid-2000s. Born Costadinos Contostavlos in 1987, Dappy was raised as the son of Byron Costadinos, himself a vocalist from a 1970s folk-rock group, in the Camden Town section of London. He began his ascent to popularity as a member of N-Dubz, a crew he formed with his friend Richard Rawson (Fazer) and cousin Tulisa while he was in college. After unloading multiple platinum albums as part of the group, in 2012 he released Bad Intentions, a debut album that proved his mettle as a solo artist with widely streamed singles like “No Regrets” and “Good Intentions.” In 2018, he released “Oh My,” an island-inflected tune whose music video became his most popular to that point, reaffirming his status as one of the UK's premier hitmakers.
Dappy has also released music as a member of N-Dubz.
